Filling Empty Bowls

Every Spring, at the John C. Campbell Folk School, Mike Lalone organizes a benefit for the food banks of Cherokee and Clay Co. here in western NC.  Volunteers from the school and the community pull together to provide a wonderful evening of food and fun.

Tonight was no exception. The event was sold out this year. As you enter, you pick out a hand crafted bowl, then proceed to a table and enjoy big bowls of beef barley soup, salad, homemade bread and cookies.  I love soup !!! I had wonderful table mates this year. It’s always nice to sit down with stranger and come away with a new friend.
