The long awaited Fall Festival at the John C. Campbell Folk School has come and gone. I tried two other years to get in and finally made it this year. I was thrilled to be there. There’s too much to write about in one post so I will stretch it out over the next few days. I heard there were 11,000 people attending on Saturday. It was wild. People shopped, too. It was good to see so many people supporting local artists.
The weather was perfect.
My idea of a successful craft show is that I make my booth rental, make a new friend and have something really good to eat. So on all accounts I was a huge success.
The neatest thing happened. My booth was really crowded and I thought I recognized some folks but it couldn’t be them because they live in Florida. I took a chance and said hello and sure enough it was Tim and Melba Melnick for Dunedin, Florida. I was thrilled to see them. They were with Sandy Conaty from Franklin who used to be a friend in Florida, too. I had not seen all of them in over 17 years. Small world. It just made my day.
Tomorrow I will start posting a picture a day with some of the artists I met. I want to stretch out this wonderful weekend as long as I can.
I leave you this time with the Fall Fairy that greeted people as they arrived on Saturday. He was a hoot.
Just Jackie
