Ken Umbach

Studied at the School of Fine Arts, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; University of Cincinnati; Cincinnati Art Academy; Central Academy of Art, Cincinnati; and the Tyler Art School, Temple University, Philadelphia.

Currently works primarily in acrylic, mixed media, watercolor and ink. Has developed a unique, fresh, dynamic ink and wash approach to drawing that captures the essence of the object, person or animal drawn allowing viewers to use their own imagination and creativity in order to experience the art.  These drawings and sketches are often then used as the basis for larger paintings ranging in size up to 6’ x 4’.

He also is currently completing a large commission of 20 figurative paintings for an Orthopedic/Sports Medicine practice in North Georgia. 

An award winning artist, his paintings and drawings are represented in private collections throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia. 

In the past he has been represented in the MainStrasse Village Art Collaborative, Covington, Kentucky; The Carol Schwartz Gallery, Philadelphia; and the Duvanek Society Award Exhibitions. 

He is currently represented by the High Country Gallery, Blue Ridge, Georgia and Summit One Gallery, Highlands, North Carolina.
