She was surrounded by talented crafters: quilting, tatting, crochet, rag rugs, gardening and canning. Jackie was a happy child. Her parents thought it would be best to relocate to Florida and all the things she loved were gone. She spent the next 48 years trying to find her way back. She tried many things to fill that void. A seamstress, school teacher, worked in television, live theater and finally, retail sales. Jackie raised two great kids who gave her two wonderful grandkids. She had a full life but there was something missing. So in 2006, she packed up her new husband and moved to the mountains in Murphy, North Carolina. She was home. Even being snowed in the first week here was bliss. She has met many wonderful people, great crafters and found a can-do spirit that does not exist in other places. She has now come home to the mountains, and is at peace. It proves that you can live happily ever after. You can see Jackie’s work at local craft shows in and around Murphy, NC;  Homestead Handcrafts, San Antonio, TX, and in her little shop on Old Highway 64 in Brasstown, NC.
